[RE-wrenches] battery commissioning

Ron.....we looked into this because we have had customers that wanted the
dry batteries....we were not going to stock them ourselves......we were told
that:
1.  There is an extra 10% surcharge for getting the dry batteries because
they would have to remove them from their normal assembly line process and
somehow that makes it less efficient for them to handle at the
factory........
2.  There is not an indefinite shelf life on the dry cell batteries....most
of the advice we got was not to store them for more than 5 years and much of
the advice recommended shorter shelf life times than this....
I dont know if the 10 % surcharge would eliminate your shipping
savings...........
You may find another battery distributor who brings in the batteries you
like to use in bigger quantities and therfore has less chipping costs per
battery....We use a company here on the west coast called Battery Systems
and my understanding is that they buy Rolls batteries by the train car
load......significantly reducing the per price battery costs......
