Around here grid outages (especially in the winter) are VERY common. Most grid intertie
folks want the system specifically for the back up power and the ability to sell excess
RE to the grid is a bonus,  BUT... on a recent very cloudy day the inverter consumed
more in it's wasteful idle current than came in from the 24, 60 watt PV's... this really
is frustrating.

I remember when Trace was one of the good guys. Working with the industry to provide
much needed power processing equipment. Now that they are one of "the BIG guys" the same
old corporate BS reigns... I used to champion Trace, now I hope some competing
manufacturer comes along and steals the market from them. God how I hate the corporate
mentality.

I think sealed batteries suck. The gelled electrolyte does not fair well with high the
potentially high current demands of a 4024.
