Trace efficiency [RE-wrenches]

There may be some confusion with my including LBX Mode in the discussion on
Utility-intertied systems.  A question to all you wrenches.....  How many
grid-tied systems do you have out there, with or without battery, where-in
the client actually gets a check each month from the utility?  I'm guessing
the answer will be very few to none.  Designs that utilize the PV's to
directly power appliances in the home while the system is producing adequate
power, and transfer one/some loads back to the utility to save the battery
(rather than floating it all night) accomplish the same thing and I believe
they can do so more efficiently.  These appliances fall back to the battery
(controlling relays energized by utility power) in the event of a power
failure, just like they would in a utility-intertied system, yet do not
require high priced insurance (Wisconsin) nor other utility authorizations
and contracts.  Though the system is essentially utility-interactive, such
systems don't even require an SW inverter.
