Beware: the Techie level menu [RE-wrenches]

	For any of you thinking about fooling around in the Tech menu on the Trace
SW series inverter, watch out!!! Make sure that you aren't powering any
sensitive loads or doing some serious grid inirtie. At one point in the
menu of the Country Fair's SW2512 this afternoon, the inverter dumped it's
connection to the 30 Kw generator and transfered loads to the batteries.
This was just scrolling through the menus, not changing the set points.
Fortunately, there was only about 200 watts of non-critical loads powered
through the system at the time.
	There were a lot of non-intuitive menu items which I didn't get all the
way through because of the dump. The heat sink and transformer temperature
readings  aren't calibrated in degrees, but are a decimal assignment for
the internal processor to use, 0-255. Fan speed is expressed as 0-4, etc.
	It probably is possible to change the inverters characteristics in this
menu, ouptput voltage, load transfer delay times, etc. Sam Vanderhoof said
that they revert to factory values when the inverter is powered down, so
you couldn't get into too much trouble changing them on a "bench test"
inverter.
	On another note, had a few light conversational words with John Schafer
today in Energy Park. Gary probably could tell you more about John's day
than I could (like you were interested, right?).
