Sw workaround [RE-wrenches]

You've pretty much nailed all the reasons I can think of why folks go 
with 12V inverters, but given that there ARE some compelling reasons, 
why can't 12Vers have a great inverter/charger? What are the options, 
a PS? Sorry, it can't hold a candle to the SW without some major 
changes from Mr Xantrex.
