Joe,
That is how I feel about it. Another related issue.. I'm not trying to get
on my soap box but this something that nags me sometimes about myself and
other probably have some similar feelings.
By selling appliances and other things not directly solar related I feel
that our customers could be getting short changed. They look to us to be
"experts" on everything.
Can we really be
-Battery experts
-Solar Panel Experts
-Inverter Experts
-Charge Controller Experts
-Solar Water Pumping Experts
-Electricians
-System Designers
and Appliance Experts all at the same time?
For example what's the best battery for given application? There would be
almost as many opinions among us as there was batteries. On top of that we
are all competing with Internet Mega Marts who will tell a customers
anything just to get a sale.
Maybe someday we'll have a solar industry that has enough business that we
(installing dealers) can have employees who specialize in each part of the
install.
