Yes, my understanding is that mandatory TOU doesn’t start until NEM 2.0
rolls out. For the sites that we’ve analyzed with TOU-A and TOU-B, it is
definitely better to have a South to West orientation, but other
orientations don’t necessarily kill the deal. The NEM 2.0 “haircut” is only
part of how the utilities are trying to recoup their costs. Rate schedules
are not nearly as solar friendly as they used to be! I wish we could have
E-7 again.



All this said, bill analysis is complicated and there is no one-size-all
solution. That’s why having a good bill analysis and simulation tool is
key.

correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't this new mandatory assignment to TOU
with PG&E start when NEM2.0 starts.  I think we can keep using E1 up to the
change...which is soon.  Some sites just don't have good afternoon options
here in the Sierras (mountains, trees, etc)  Do we start declining jobs
that have excellent SE facing options?  Please enlighten me.

We have been using Energy Toolbase (as Mac mentioned) to model proposals to
accurately estimate post-solar bills under one of these new rates

the “normal” monthly consumption range, say below 800-1000 kWh/month. High
energy users will probably be better off going TOU-B. For those with

I am looking at the new rates for PG&E’s time of use and was wondering what
others in California are using Tou-A or Tou-B? it looks like if you have a
West facing array Tou-B is going to be the better choice if you can control
your usages.
