[RE-wrenches] Pg&e meter reading

HI Jay,

I would believe what the PG&E agent said.  When the utility began to use
the GE Smart Meters (with SilverSprings zigbee card) a lot of new
"features" were rolled out in California.

The smart meters can detect if there is selling of power prior to an
authorization to interconnect.  If they see power flowing backwards, they
charge it as consumption!

The smart meters also notify the utility if a system is backfeeding the
meter without being authorized.

It makes sense that they would also cap the amount of sell back at or near
the inverter kw.  That is really sad, if it is true, but not surprising.
