It is our experience that the smaller circulator should always be located
before the larger.  Otherwise the smaller port of the smaller pump could
result in back pressure on the larger pump decreasing its effectiveness.  It
is also recommended that a 6-8" min. nipple be installed between the
circulators.

When plumbing a booster pump in series for a solar drainback system, should
the booster pump go ahead of or behind the main circulator?
