AEE Dump Load Element for Water Heaters [RE-wrenches]

Travis Creswell and others wrote about thread fitting issues with the
AEE DC water heating elements.

Mick says: This is an interesting "thread", Wrenchies. There is a
standard called BSPP (British Standard Parallel Port) which is nearly
the same as American NPT except not tapered. Perhaps one of the units
that Travis acquired had accidentally come from a BSPP batch. I'll bet
AEE Solar would do a swap, especially since the other identical part
which Travis tried seemed to "fit" his expectations.

For what it's worth, race cars use an aluminum "crush washer" for
parallel threads which would be better than a rubber gasket. A crush
washer should be fairly easy to find, but then one must worry about
possible problems relating to dissimilar metals.
