XW6048 running a 1HP pump? [RE-wrenches]

Warren:

I have this 'application single phase motor chart' that says a 240VAC pump
has a maximum single phase load of 1600 watts continuous, and locked rotor
amps at 41.8.... I have found using this for worst case scenerios has
covered my derriere in terms of being conservative in load evaluation. I
hate to 'guess' that this new inverter would handle this load (I am cautious
about promoting new equipment!). It SHOULD handle the 1 HP load, but I
don't want to offer it til I know.

I do have a call in to Xantrex tech support, but have yet to hear from then.
I'll let you know what they say.

That seems a bit high, even for an AC pump. 1 HP is equal to 746 watts (not
a true direct conversion, but close enough). So even if surge is 4x that,
would 3000 watts/VA
