HI Chris;
First, I have to say I'm sorry to have read in the paper about your
fellow employee being killed while riding his bicycle. My wife said
"why is it always the good guys that get it?"
The solar world mourns his loss.
2nd, I have had an inspector (another county) pull the "god" card,
and it IS in the NEC. He referenced Article 110.2 which says....
"The conductors and equipment required or permitted by this code
shall be acceptable only if approved."
Then if you look under the definitions in article 100:
"APPROVED. Acceptable to the authority having jurisdiction."
So, hidden it is, but the code does have its "AHJ = god" section.
Luckily, Taos county has a reasonable person as our inspector.
