Yes it should work well for AC coupled applications.  We have done these
with the Southwest Windpower turbines - which have AC output - as well
as some hydro-turbines as well - so its very similar.  

This wind-turbine has the oddity of switching its output from 120 to
240VAC at higher power - but that should not really be a big deal either
- except for metering (would require a Form-12S type meter I would
think).

This doesn't look like a cheap unit - my guess is $20,000 for the
turbine... and then there is the cost of a tower which can handle the
size and weight of this unit.  It also has a dual disc brake system
driven by an air compressor, gearbox and a full control panel - so - yes
no inverter is required - but lots of controls...
