When I first started this thread, I mentioned that we are dealing with many common issues like the lack of response from manufacturers when they dis-continue products we really need, or code groups that listen then go on and do what they want, and states that make rules right out of never-never land. However, a single voice is just not being heard and it is getting worse as everything gets passed down to us in a take it or leave it dictate.

It appears to me that NABCEP is in a really good position to form a "sub-group" or sister organization that could fit the bill, but I am betting they are either not interested or not allowed to by their charter. It seems like once you are NABCEP tested and certified, their only interest in you is an endless debate on where and how to utilize their logo! Don't get me wrong, I think this is a really good organization to establish installer qualifications and testing for those not yet in the business, but where is the support once you are certified?  We just fall into a black hole unless, god forbid, you use the wrong shaped logo on your calling card.

We need to form some type of trade association of installers that can be a collective voice for all solar installers from all states. I mentioned this in the start of this thread and have not seen any comment. I would really like for NABCEP to step up to the plate with a trade association for installers after they are certified, maybe move licensed installers over to a separate chapter or sub-group since they already have all the contact information and web site, but if they do not or cannot, I am positive we will find some organization that will represent us in these major issues, or start our own asociation if that is the only way.
