34% Percent of installed BP panels (BP3160s) have failed (or shattered)
41 BP Panels Failed out of 3057 BP Panels Installed.

13.7 % Percent of our customers with installed BP3160 Panels have had
failures ranging from 1 to 14 panels within 6 years of installation

About half of the failed panels are actually exploding
causing the glass to shatter in place in some cases.

DO you all honestly think the rest of us would know about the above problem if it were not for this list?

Has any of the "solar associations" provided you with this kind of critical information?

Who is representing installers in this market?

NAPCEP tests us, then turn us loose on our own with no other contact except to make sure we don't mis-use their logo!

SEIA appears to me as only interested in manufacturers and to lobby congress.

This Internet group is great, but it is not a trade association.

Time and time again we see valuable trade information only available by this list.

We need our own trade association and it is clear none of the other "solar" associations care about OUR interests.

Is there any interest in starting our own independent trade association?

We need a mechanism to receive monthly up-to-date information including:

1. Industry news and trends
2. Featured installations
3. Installation Problems
4. Code issues
5. Installation tips
6. Pricing and contract issues
7. State and Federal Legislation
8. Help in resolving a manufacturer or supplier problem
9. Scams, hoaxes, and Internet fraud
10. Products we need and new product evaluations

Any interest? I have brought this up in the past hoping one of the existing associations or trade groups would step up to the plate, but it looks like we are on our own - now there's a surprise!
