Roofing Question [RE-wrenches]

I just finished an installation on an EDPM (or is it EPDM)membrane.
The roof was only 1 year old and under warranty so I hired the roofer to
set our standoffs in order for him to keep it under warranty. Because
the lightweight aggregate undr the mebrane(with insulating foam board in
between) was old and crumbly he had to drill through the roof at each
standoff and use a steel plate to sandwich the standoff to the exposed
ceiling underneath with four bolts. It was a job.

At any rate he used what he calls witches hats, made by Firestone, they
are compatible with the EDPM. They are a rubber like material and have
a round base. Worked great. Roof under warranty. But he does nice work.
I suppose it would depend on the particular roofer. I'm thinking of
establishing a relationship with him to set standoffs on exceptionally
steep roofs, flat roofs, etc. Anybody else doing that?
