What is a "bifacial module"? We have used the HIP 200BA3's; are they
bifacial?

Subject: Sanyo warranty update [RE-wrenches]

I had previously posted about the Sanyo warranty being void in some high
temperature locations. Here's a bit of information to shed more light on the
issue.

1.. This temperature exclusion does not apply to the HIT bifacial models.
2.. Sanyo is working on the design and will remove the exclusion when the
problem is fixed.
3.. The exclusion was changed (again) on April 1, 2007. Paragraph 3 (q)
now reads, "Products installed in a location that exceeds Operating
Conditions." It previously had the word "Standard" before "Operating
Conditions"
I wrote to Sanyo to get clarification of the wording in the warranty
revision. Because the Operating Conditions spell out humidity also, I asked
if the warranty will be void if modules are installed in areas that have
humidity levels outside of the SOC limits. The SOC relative humidity rating
is from 45% to 95%. There are many areas in the US that would be affected by
this.

Today I received response from Sanyo. Here is the pertinent portion:

  "Dear Mr. Crutcher,
Good morning. I have confirmed with our engineers that the
current generation of modules will have either a reduced or
no humidity restriction. I expect to have full
clarification by the end of this week, so we can
appropriately modify our installation manual/ warranty and
notify distributors and dealers quickly thereafter."

Hope this helps. I like this module and look forward to selling Sanyo again.
