Converting Off-Grid OB to Grid-Tie [RE-wrenches]

All,

I have a customer who is converting his off-grid Out Back system to a
grid-tied system. He asks the following:

<<- I know Outback sells the GTFX2524 and GTFX3524; obviously we'll need to
see which one is appropriate to the system upon redesign, but I am
wondering if there is a way to still incorporate the existing 2024 to
charge off the panels, and run the GTFX2524 along side, or if this is
foolish and overcomplicated, and I should look towards selling the 2024
(or keeping it as emergency back-up?).>>

Anyway to incorporate his four yr old FX 2024 into a GTFX system?

Thanks for your time,
Dave
