My experience is that setting the modules is one of the fastest parts of PV.
In fact we don't set modules until the very end when ALL inverters, conduit
and wiring is completed. This also includes ALL the DC wiring from the
beginning/end of string to the combiner, disconnect, inverter, etc...
We have found that the once the client, commercial or otherwise, sees those
modules being handled they expect it to work very shortly thereafter. We
try to avoid the pressure of the clients excited expectations can sometime
bring.
Regarding commercial - non-penetrating/self ballasted (substructures - no
modules) 10-40% depending on design type.
Regarding commercial - ground mounted (parking/shade structure) 40-65%
Regarding commercial - roof top - penetrating: 10-25%
Commercial AC & DC - 30-50%: this depends on site related issues. If all
on building with meter at building 10-20%. If trenching, and special
iso-transformers required 20-45%.
Residential: standard roof (asphalt w/unirac) 15-25%
Residential: Tile roof (w/unirac) 15-40% (depends if we are replacing tile
or leaving and cutting it.
Hope this helps. Good luck with the Good Old Boys!
