CFL follow-up [RE-wrenches]

I've just learned some interesting CFL facts from LBNL via EBN:
20% reduction in lamp life if on cycle is under 1 hr.
70% reduction in lamp life if on cycle is 15 mins.
85% reduction in lamp life if on cycle is 5 mins. (This brings it close to incandescent life)
Each switch cycle costs about 6 mins in lamp life.
LBNL suggests that you use CFL's where they will have on cycles of 10 mins or more.
