outback-generator-on grid [RE-wrenches]

We have a client who would like to have a 5.6kW pv system with 2-3048's and
12-AGM 8D batteries and it is on grid with a 325 amp service.

The property is about 5 acres with multiple cottages that they desire to run
a few items in each in the event of a power failure.

They are looking at getting a 15kW generator to supplement things in the
event of an extended power failure.

What is the general consensus on the genny- do we go with a DC flavored one
to keep the batteries topped off? I am wondering due to the situation of
Outback's single input situation now.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Aloha
