I did a little websurfing and collected the following info from 
published data to back up the statements I made regarding weight and 
idle power consumption.  I added the SMA-America Sunny Island unit even 
though a pair is rated at only 8.4 kVA continuous for comparison 
purposes.

OutBack Power - three VFX3648 in parallel = 10.8 kVA (120VAC/60HZ)

Idle power / No load / full AC output = 26 watts DC
Idle power / No load / No AC output = 10 watts DC

Unit weight - 56 Lbs X 3 = 168 Lbs

Selectronics PS1 10/48 = 10 kVA (230VAC/50Hz)

Idle power / No load / full AC output = 90 watts DC
Idle power / No load / No AC output = 15 watts DC

Unit weight - 192 Lbs

Abacus 614-4-200 = 10 kVA (240VAC/60Hz)

Idle power / No load / full AC output = 250 watts DC
Idle power / No load / No AC output = NA

Unit weight - 450 Lbs

SMA-America - two SI4248U wired in series = 8.4 kVA (240VAC/60HZ)

Idle power / No load / full AC output = 44 watts DC
Idle power / No load / No AC output = 8 watts DC

Unit weight - 86 Lbs X 2 = 168 Lbs
