Hi Allan,
Another way is to reuse the existing stud.
clean the old surface on the panel.
coil a piece of soldier on the panel, now face down
heat the stud with a torch holding it with plyers.
when hot, hold onto the soldier and let cool.
works like a champ, done in lots of times.
