hi wrenches,

I am puzzled by these Sunpower panels/modules/cells. I have
installed some 12V modules on 12 volt systems. But if the system
voltage is higher, what happens? The modules can't all have positive
grounded! The ground would short them out.
Anyone know the reason why the Sunpowers need this positive ground,
and what to do with series strings of cells/modules? I assume that
you ground the positive end of the string, but then the positive end
of the other modules is not grounded at all. Is it simply necessary
to keep all the PV stuff negative with respect to ground and if so
why?
Just trying to get some insight, thanks
