Oh come on, Matt. With the PV on the turbine, it might be the most 
productive rooftop VAWT ever... ;-)

It's sad that we are seeing such an onslaught of these hare-brained 
ideas. Couple it with a major manufacturer pushing a 35-foot tower, 
and I see a big black eye for small-scale wind-electric systems on 
the horizon.

We need to keep installing turbines that we know work on towers that 
are tall enough, and continue to educate people that there is no easy 
way. You need a big rotor on a tall tower to get significant wind 
energy. If you can't do that, it's probably not worth trying to tap 
the wind.
