strings and shading [RE-wrenches]

good day Wrenches,
  Perhaps i forgot or was sleeping when it was covered, but i have a 
rather basic question concerning string wiring for shading conditions. 
Maybe someone has real-world vs. theory input on this.
  We have an array of 10 modules racked 5 wide X 2 high with 2 strings. 
There is a tree to the west which will cast a "vertical" shadow in the 
afternoon. What is the optimal wiring configuration (2 rows of 5 each or 
 2 columns of 2 1/2 each) for this array given the following:
- inverter cannot track strings seperately
- inverter can track srings seperately.
