I agree w/the voices for DC hydro, even a bank of 8 or more would attract me more than one AC unit. I like the redundancy as well. 

I use one MX60 for both my PV array and for Hydro diversion. I'm not rich so I'm opposed to the advice to buy two for back-up to failure (didn't I just say I LIKE redundancy?!). What I did instead was use a relay that is held Open by the MX60 (w/hydro one often has surplus power for this small draw), if there is a controller failure it should drop off power to the relay (AUX) and thus energize the load. Sure this can take my batteries into the mud, but it beats the heck out of boiling them to oblivion and these are sealed cells w/zero tolerance for it.
