We've been using the Dankoff (Conergy ) DL-8A controllers for years
and most have been trouble free for the most part. Not sure if the
guts are still made by BZ but all the units I witnessed problems with
did utilize internal BZ components. I say for the most part because
it does seem that I've had to either replace units or live with the
units little quirks. Mostly the three position switch not operating
as designed so that the user would have to fall back to overflow mode
or, with my personal unit, float position is the only way the unit
will operate. Almost every time at least one of the switch positions
would still allow the pump to operate. Many squeaked and made noises
as well but I don't really see that as an issue other than having to
reassure the customer that it's operating as designed. In any case
Dankoff was always on the ball with replacements and it blows away
the old Solarjack units that were priced nearly twice as much and
half as dependable. I've always had an interest in BZ's controllers
myself but have a hard time beating the reliability of Morningstar
products, if only they made a small MPPT controller...
