Hi Wrenches,

In an old thread, I had been looking for a very small ,14 Microfarad
capacitor for a motor. Since one of the proper size was unavailable, we
located small 10 and 4 Microfarad capacitors and wired them in
series. According to our sources, series was the best way to connect them,
that parallel would result in more capacitance than the sum of the two. (???)

Anyway, the motor seems to work to specification, pulling the correct
amperage and running with what appears to be normal power. There is
however a "clinking" noise associated with the motor now. Does anyone know
what that is about? All the bearings seem to be fine. Are we getting some
sort or reactive effect between the two capacitors?

This is not a critical issue, as we have replace the motor with a new
one. The old motor is for backup, and the investigation is to some degree
for the learning curve.

Thanks,

Drake
