Todd and Wrenches,

For poles over 3" I add rebar and reinforcing wire to the hole. I build a
circular cage of reinforcing wire about 1/2 of the way from the pole to the
outside of the hole and wire on 4-6 pieces of rebar. For larger poles (like
6") I splay out the reinforcing wire so it ties in the top of the
pour--maybe 4" below the top of the finished concrete.

Is this necessary? Thoughts...

Gary

Do you guys add rebar into the hole, or just plant the pipe in concrete?

Todd
