Hi Jeff,

My comment is why are we holding solar mounts to a higher standard than
every through fitting in the roof?

Every roof I've seen of late is using "rubber" /metal flashings.  And these
seal around big holes in the roof, for all types of vents etc.

I sleep really well at night using a good sealant and knowing the flashing
adds an additional layer of protection, which is often under the panels
getting no direct sun at all.
