8.5 and
11 RMY units came out around 1999 with an air-cooled 3600 RPM 20- or
25-hp
OHV engine. "

The reason Kohler made these changes were because they got "caught" in
one of the new Federal emissions standards that was intended for other
engine driven applications, and their custom built engines could not
meet the new standards.  Its a shame as these smaller 1800 RPM models
were very reliable and were a great match for the 4 kW SW series
inverters.
