Hi Ken,

Why not use a Bogart Trimetric or a link/Emeter?  If you need computer
data logging for the prototype, you could use the Link Choice with RS232
port.  I can get you the name of a person in N. WI who wrote software
(Excel) to gather data from the Link Choice and has offered it in the
past for free.

Looking for ideas to collect power used on a small 12VDC agricultural 
machine.

We need to collect some data on a prototype used in the field. I recall 
seeing an HP article about using the HOBO units with current flow 
sensors. Does this make sense for the prototype data collection?

If this all works we'll eventually want to add a user 'fuel gauge' on 
the machine. Do you think the simple volt meter schemes are acceptable? 
This is a LOW power machine, less than 50W.
