William M asked:
> Is there any state law or case law that
protects a citizens right to collect sunlight without undue governmental
obstruction?
In California there are two laws regarding this...
Civil Code 714 (Solar Rights Act)
http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/waisgate?WAISdocID=09253517454+0+0+0&WAISaction=retrieve
Government Code 65850.5 (Specific to the type of situation described)
http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/waisgate?WAISdocID=09272618251+0+0+0&WAISaction=retrieve
I would look those over first and see if they help.
Best of Luck!
