Hello all:

The standard pipe insulation for our firm for years has been Rubatex for all 
exterior applications.  

Although it will become brittle over the years, it does hold up to heat 
nicely.  However, it must be painted, and we have been using an elastomeric paint 
used by roofers to coat roofing material.  This paint does not come in black, 
to my knowledge, so you will need to apply a color coat, latex with a brush 
preferably (spray paint flakes away), unless your customer likes the white look.
