The Starband 360 modem also requires a dedicated PC to operate. We use a
laptop, so low power draw (like 10-15 watts in addition to the modem)
but I have not measured it. Shutting it down is not a problem. You
cannot reliably (or securely) use the Starband dedicated PC for other
tasks with the 360 modem. As Richard says, the 480 does not require
this.

Hello Dave

The Starband 480 Pro satellite modem consumes 28 watts (and it contains
a four port Ethernet hub). I routinely shut it off at night with no
problems.

The Starband 360 modem consumes about 30 Watts as I remember.
