Hi Ken,

I use two methods depending on the box. If the box mounting holes
are less than 4 " apart (or 3" on 6" pipe), then I simply pre-drill
straight into the pipe with a 15/64" bit and use #14 x 1" self
tapping screws.

If the box mounting holes are farther apart, I buy a piece of 3/4"
aluminum U-channel (3/4" x 3/8"x 3/8"), cut it to the width of the
box, drill one center hole on the pipe and attach with a self tapping
screw and drill holes for my box mounting screws. I then do the same
thing coming in a right angles from 1/4 way around the pole with a
shorter piece and bolt it to the cross piece to triangulate. It's
fairly fast and cheap and quite strong for only 2 mounting screws in
the pole.

I looked into clamps but couldn't justify the expense and lack of
ability to customize to the box being used.

Hope that helps.

Jeff C.
