Group,

I've got a client in Costa Rica who has an older pelton wheel powering a 3 phase Brooks-Crompton induction motor/generator. This thing is two connected to two phases = 575 volts AC, 60 Hz @ 1700 RPM in Wye configuration.

The problem is that a big tree fell on his set-up, resulting in him taking the whole mess apart, and now he can't figure out how the two X 10 mf capacitors were hooked up that provided the excitor circuit for the system. ?

There is a 2100 foot run from the generator to the building containing a 5:1 transformer, an Outback inverter and battery bank. I have to come up with some workable solution for this guy. Somehow.

Ideas?

Matt T
