Well - since you asked... None of the OutBack inverters and controllers
are currently FCC listed. We recently completed CE approvals (which are
similar, but not identical requirements) and are working hard on getting
the FCC as soon as possible. We have two engineers assigned to this
project already and are looking at adding more resources if required.

I don't think you need to worry about downing any airplanes with any
OutBack products - we have several HAM radio guys in our engineering
group and are located only a few hundred feet from a busy airport
coincidentally. The FX and MX60 are very quiet devices from a RF
standpoint - but we are finding a few improvements are possible and
reasonable to add from a cost standpoint.

There also are numerous OutBack inverters in use by the military both in
the US and the Middle East. The largest quantity of units is with the
ordinance demolition group who gets to disarm the roadside bombs in Iraq
- they use them to run large halogen lights as well as power remote
controlled robots - so if we were making problems we would hear pretty
quickly...

We also have had many positive comments from
dealers/installers/customers on how switching to an OutBack inverter
eliminated various interference/noise issues caused by other previous
sinewave inverters and controllers.

The bottom line is that we do not know of anyone who has had significant
problems with noise/interference with any OutBack products - if you do
know of anyone we would love to see if the small changes being done for
the FCC compliance actually does makes any difference in the real world.
