Whisper woes [RE-wrenches]

Hi;

I've got to relay a little problem I had with Jay too. I had two Air 403s
I had purchased through Dankoff. When I installed one, the rotor wouldn't
spin. I took it down, took off the rotor, and the shaft spun freely. I
finally figured out (2 hrs in the field) that the rotor was contacting the
outer surface of the bearing when tightened. Back at the shop, I noticed
that the bearing in the other Air 403 was a different brand and # .
I called Jay to let him know about the problem ( I figured a manu would
want to know ASAP). At first he tried to say I had screwed up the install.
Then when I told him about the two different bearings, he actually told me
that DANKOFF must have switched the bearing before shipping it through to
me. My BS radar was off the scale at that point.
The guy couldn't admit a simple mistake and went out of his way to lay
blame on the innocent. I won't sell their stuff anymore. Further, I have
never seen a 403 make more than 100 watts cont, and 200 watts surge. This,
while a nearby Bergey XL.1 was making 1700 watts ( their rated only for
1000 watts)
I can't believe anything SWWP says or publishes.
