Charlie,

Of course you're right about the variable voltage not being an issue. The
issue is actually the ultra-conservative stance adopted by many utility
employees regarding inter-connection with a private generator.

Having been a Windmatic ( as well as Bonus, Nordtank, and others) dealer at
one time I think you summed it up pretty well! Don't forget slippery ladders
and squealing brakes.
