You're probably referring to the Bowjon, Jay. There are at least two
others that are similar, but the Bowjon is essentially an air compressor
with a direct drive aluminum-bladed rotor. They were plagued with
problems in the past, to the point of going under, but somebody bought
the company and is still producing them.
We sold a few back in the early 80's but backed-off because of their
many problems, but also sold at least one German air pumper of extremely
high quality and price.
The problem with all the air pumpers is that you have to have the wind!

There used to be a windmill that was a air pump, don't know if it still
exists but might be a good solution for some. Anybody know if they still
exist?
