Jim Keeton is a whiz at this stuff and a few minutes on the phone with him will educate you quite a bit.  I've used and recommend his Dura-Venturi aerator heads.  Pair them with appropriate weighted line or his excellent self-weighted Alpine tubing for the underwater part.  I use inexpensive drip irrigation-type poly pipe for the underground and other plumbing.
