The 0.90 factor was the efficiency of the VFX3648 at full power. Your 
right Bob-O (as usual) that estimating the current draw at 44 VDC 
instead of 48 VDC is more accurate.

So the actual current (without the safety margin) would be:

  3600 WAC / 44 VDC / 0.90 eff = 91 amps DC

The OutBack OBDC-100 breaker is 100% duty rated so the 125% John Wiles 
multiplier doesn't have to be applied as long as the cables are able to 
handle 125 amps.  

So - the bottom line is that the 100 amp breaker is too tight and may 
nuisance trip - its okay if the inverters are not expected to be ran 
hard but...  

You also can just sneak by with #2 AWG cables from the inverter to the 
breakers with the 100 amp breakers.  The cables to the battery should be 
larger however - and usually are since often they feed two or more 
breakers.  We offer a busbar now that can connect the battery side of up 
to four 175/250 amp breakers or up to six of the OBDC100 breakers - see 
the OutBack BB (or "Big Bus").
