6" poles [RE-wrenches]

I'm w/Bob-O on this one. Although I do not have a cutting torch :(, I just drill a hole for a scrap of rebar. The black iron is the way to go and 21 footers have the best price by a good margin when sourced at metal/industrial supply houses. My (inland) black iron tracker poles are 20y/o with only a very thin layer of "protective" rust maybe 4 mils deep.

btw- in a pinch I've smashed a pipe end out of round w/a sledge to keep it from spinning. A 6" would put up a hell of a fight though!
