Batteries on Concrete [RE-wrenches]

The skinny I have received, and seems to make the most sense is that
concrete can lower the temperature in the battery and therefore reduce
internal temperature. Left for a long period of time and not charged [like
over the winter] resulted in a dead battery in the spring. Hence the "old
tale" of the batteries being drained by concrete or the ground.
We set all of our battery installs off the slab on at least pressure treated
wood and blue board insulation, UNLESS the slab is heated. I have many
battery sets on the heated slab and the temp. comp. in the inverter and
charge controlled verify that the battery is close to or above 77 deg. F. No
dead batteries on our heated slabs.
Anyone got more?
Dana

Subject: Batteries on Concrete [RE-wrenches]
Well, I got the question today about 'can I put these batteries on
concrete? (they are Concorde AGM's). Despite having heard for years that
there is something bad about putting batteries on concrete, I really had
no good answer for my customer. Anybody got the real skinny?
Best,
Bill Roush
