Jeff, the KWHR Total meter in the Sunny Boy is a single stored value
that updates continuously. There is no historical data on a timed
interval stored in the inverter. Below are some single datum points that
I know are stored in the inverter:

Total operating hours
Total turn on times
Max PV voltage
Max temperature
Power since last turn on
Various fault counters (there are a number of these)

I'm not sure what was going on in the SBCL you had. But there is no
date/time clock in the inverter, so it could not record daily energy
productions.
