flooded v. sealed batteries [RE-wrenches]

Richard et al,

How do you handle the warranty "issues" with Surrette, since you're on
the West coast and they're on the East? The warranty requires returning
the battery to the factory for claims and adjustments. It seems to me
that the expenses incurred in the process eat up any pro-rated
considerations in exchanging batteries with this kind of distance
involved. Not to mention the fact that Surrette is in Canada.

It would be nice if IBE could manufacture a middle-ground battery line,
similar to Surrette, here in California for the market West of the
Rockies. I recently discussed this issue with them and got a poitive
response. Who knows, it might actually happen some day.

Hello Jeff and Wrenches

I personally like the Surrettes. We have two batteries (one 12 VDC at
1640 A-h and the other 24 VDC at 1640 A-h) made up of their 820 A-h
cells. The 12 Volter is over eight years old and doing just fine. The
24 Volter is only one year old. I particularly like their "case in a
case" design as the tops stay clean--we've never had to clean
corrosion for any of their connections.
