Inverters for GT with Batteries [RE-wrenches]

Hi Allen,

We just set up a grid tie customer with an OutBack Power Panel with two
FX2548's, X240, and Mate, all powered up with a Proven WT2500 Wind Turbine
on an 88 foot tilt up tower. We hooked it up to 800 amp hours of Surrette
S530's to run his house subpanel.

We have the understanding with the owner that he can run his AC loads, and
AC diversion heaters, for now & when the inverters are ready for the Line
Tie upgrade, we will send them in, to do that. For the moment we are
offsetting approximately 3/4's of the energy they use on the house subpanel.
The subpanel is fed from a main panel where the shop and 5 hp well pump are
tied in. In the future we are discussing the addition of PV and two more
FX2548's with the addition of a subpanel at the main to power up all loads,
and claim energy independence from the local utility.

I consider the OutBack FX's ready for this sort of application today, with
most customers not being able to afford setting up systems with too much
power to begin with. The inverters are using grid power to help charge the
battery bank, and to power up the house subpanel, when the batteries are
low, the only thing missing is the "sell back mode", at this time.

Sincerely,

Chris Worcester
