William, 
 I trust my welds absolutely,  welded pipe joints properly done do not raise
any liability fears with me.  If in doubt of the welders skill, of course go
with single lengths of pipe. I just wanted to point out that hiring out the
welding work if required would save pipe and money for all concerned.
